London’s Ella Grace has used her latest track, ‘I Wonder’, to tell the meaningful, relatable and very real story of a long-distance relationship and the impacts of Covid-19 on its eventual breakdown. “As lockdown progressed, the relationship got more and more rocky until the past beautiful relationship was totally unsalvageable and unrecognisable,” she explains. The track is a slow, subtle jazz number full of hauntingly beautiful melodies, sturdy drums and insistent organs. Within that, you can hear the realness and emotion in Grace’s restrained voice.
